Back to school outfit ideas

So back to school unfortunatley and this year me and Abbie are going back to school for sixth form as we passed our GCSE but that also means working harder, however we have my freedom as our school  sixth form doesn't have a uniform but we have to dress smart! So I thought why not do a blog post on some outfits that I will be wearing for sixth form because it's a struggle for people when the dress code is smart because you want to look smart but not too smart because then in my opinion can make you're appearance look older!

First Outfit idea:

The first outfit Idea which I thought about was one of my favourite, I decided that the appearance off it was smart but I did dress it down because I mean work trousers aren't that comfatable to wear so I have Topshop Leigh Black Jeans which are very soft but I also tried Black cigarette trousersfrom Topshop also and those will what I will be wearing, then my top which is Strappy Pleat Cami from Zara in the sale and then to keep my warm I just have a basic black and white blazer from Miss Selfridge which is really comfatable!
Then for the little details I have my black loafers which are from a small warehouse  called Monkey schu where you get designer shoes for a cheap price because there might be something wrong with them, then my watch it's Michael Kors one I always wear and my two braclets are Pandora and Tiffanys which I always wear and then my necklace is from Primark!

Second Outfit Idea:

Is more of a smarter look which looks very dressy but in a way looks like you haven't really tried with you're outfit! I really like this outfit and I think it's perfect for autumn because it's the time in the season where dark colours are coming in but it's not quite cold enough for the dark colours and big coats! So first my Grey Cigarette trousers are from Primark believe it or not and they are skinner then the Topshop ones in the previous outfit, and then my sheer pink blouse is from H&M and it's so comfortable and baggy but also looks very nice with a lot of stuff then on top I have my blazer which is from River island which is my naught autumn purchase! Then I have the same accessories again and different shoes from monkey schu which are again loafer style!

So that's about it! I know their is only a few outfit ideas but I wanted it uploaded before school starts which is tomorrow! I hope this gives you some rough ideas on what to wear and hope you all have a goo first day!

Amethyst Shimmer

Another post!!!! This one is totally different to any post we have done on here but I thought why not try something different!!

So this blog post is about my new favourite lip colour for Autumn\Winter! The lip colour I have taken a liking to is a burgundy colour from Rimmel in the shade Amethyst Shimmer and I love it! I decided I wanted this colour because I've been watching this girl on YouTube called imhereforever and I'm totally obsessed with her videos and she had a similar colour on to this one so I had to go and find one!

As you can see the picture does not do it justice but it's a burgundy kind of colour and I think it's going to be perfect for Autumn with large jackets and my chelsea boots and it's great because it matches my hair perfectly so I can probably get away with wearing it in a lot of seasons and also maybe for school as my hair colour is brown and the lipstick isn't that bright which is great!

This is it on!!! It's beautiful it has to be one of my favourite lipsticks! The lip liner I used and brought was the Rimmel Coloursensational in the shade 547 Pleasure me red! And I bet you're thinking a red lip liner what?! But honest it goes perfectly with the colour of the lipstick!

I bet you're all thinking how well does it come off?! Well that was my first worry but I actually tried taking it off with makeup wipes which took it off completely but you could still see the colour a little bit so I decided to use a product which I love to death and use when I'm to lazy to do my moiturising and to remove all my makeup completely and that's the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water this product is the best product ever! I normally use the Garnier makeup remover wipes thinking that will remove all makeup but it doesn't remove it all so I apply this to a cotton wool pad and just go around my face to remove excess makeup!

So I used this to get rid of the lipstick and it worked perfectly! It was gone within one wipe to the lips which is perfect as these sort of colours can stain you're lips and I don't really like that so it's perfect!

Everyday Summer Makeup ♡

Over the last 2 weeks I have only been to school 5 times and only for a few hours because of study leave! Its been great and has meant that Iv had more time to make a bit of an effort with makeup and try new things. The weather has also been really nice so I started to think about summer makeup.
Makeup bag- Ted Baker
Me and Alicia also realised earlier in the week we have been blogging for just over a year! My first post on this blog was a few holiday makeup products so I wanted to do something similar 1 year on! These are some products that I have been loving using for a natural, everyday summery makeup look.

Face Base

Firstly I have been using the sample size Benefit The Porefessional primer. I love this and think that my makeup does stay with it on and it makes the other products go onto my skin much nicer. I then apply the Rimmel BB Cream in the shade Light if I'm having a bad skin day and want more coverage. I have been loving this for a long time as I don't wear foundation because I get worried that I'll end up with more spots and it also has SPF 25 which is obviously really good in the summer! Next I have only recently been using the Natural Collection (only at Boots) Concealer in the shade Fair. If you've read any of my other beauty related posts you will probably know that like about 90% of teenage girls I LOVE the Collection lasting perfection concealer but I went to 2 boots and neither had my colour so I went for this which was £1.99!! I was just going to use it until I could get a Collection one but I really like how this one is light which is good in the warm weather and also brightens under my eyes (not as well as the Collection one but for £1.99 I'm not complaining!) so I wont worry about getting another now. Lastly is pressed powder. I use the Avon color trend translucent powder. It's translucent so it literally sets makeup to keep it in place without adding any colour or extra coverage at all. The BB Cream alone can make your face look oily and shiny especially in the sun so a translucent powder is a great way to prevent that and give not a completely, but almost matte finish. To apply the BB Cream and concealer I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and for the powder I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which I do sometimes also apply concealer with aswell.

Eyes and Brows

I think the key to a natural everyday look is simple eye makeup. I use mascara and a shimmery product and that's it .Firstly for eye brows I use the models prefer eyebrow pencil and spoolie brush just to quickly fill my brows in and then I go through them with the Avon color trend crystal clear mascara too keep them in place. Next I use my all time favorite mascara Benefit Bad Gal Lash. A few coats of this and eyelashes instantly look long and voluminous even if like me you have really log eyelashes anyway it somehow makes them look longer! For eye shadow I sometimes use the Ted Baker rose gold cream shadow. I don't think you can buy these on there own so maybe go for a Maybelline colour tattoo in a rose gold colour instead. I rarely use that through as I don't want to use it all up so I often go for Benefits High Beam highlighter in the inner corner of my eye to make it brighter and Benefit Sun Beam in the outer corner, (Ted Baker also do really nice versions of these too!) and I blend them together in the middle with the Real Techniques Detailer Brush.

Cheeks and Lips

Lastly for cheeks and lips. For cheeks I use the Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in the shade 050 Live Pink. Its a really pretty pink with a slight shimmer but once its been blended just leaves a really natural sheer finish. I blend this with the Real Techniques Contor Brush. I have also attempted to use the Benefit Posie Tint which is a lip and cheek stain on my cheeks but I haven't quite mastered blending that in yet so it just looks like a pink splodge on my cheek that slowly fades which doesn't exactly look very good believe it or not! So I stick to using it on my lips. It stains your lips a really pretty pink colour and lasts throughout the day even when the gloss I put on top has gone. On top I have been loving the Benefit Life on the A list lip gloss which I have rediscovered within my makeup collection. It smells really nice and lasts along time too.

There we go, my summer makeup look! I only realised when writing this that there is a lot of Benefit products which I know are quite pricey so sorry about that but there are many very similar alternatives in shops like Boots and Superdrug and boots also often do mini Benefit products in sets for a lot cheaper so look out for those!

Skincare products/routine ♡

Today Iv decided to do a post that I wanted to do for a while but my skin care routine is ever changing! So I decided to just show you the products I use now or have for a while and tell you how/when I use them. I have very spot prone, sensitive, sometimes oily, sometimes very dry skin and I have tried just about every product going and this is what is working for me at the moment.

Face Wash

First of is face wash. For a while I used the Simple spotless skin triple action face wash (Right). I remember thinking it was good but for some reason I stopped using it and swapped to the Simple refreshing facial wash gel (left). I recently found the triple action one and went back to it and now I know why I stopped, it gave me even more sports than normal (which is a lot!) but I have read reviews that say it is really good so maybe its just my skin type but it might work for some people. So now I have gone back to the refreshing face wash gel and I'm loving it.

Facial Toner

When I have been in the shower I like to use a facial toner. These are my 2 favourites, Simple soothing facial toner (Left) and Clean & Clear deep cleansing lotion (Right). I use the Simple toner when I go in the shower in the morning because it is very simple (No surprise there Abbie) and light so you can then apply makeup after moisturizer after where as the Clean & Clear one really makes you feel like you've really given your skin a  deep clean and you know you have definitely gotten all your make up off and you're ready for bed! I just use them by putting a small amount onto a cotton pad gently wipe it over your face going over areas with spots last so you don't spread the germs from them onto the rest of your face. I have only been using the Clean & Clear lotion recently but it does claim to prevent spots so fingers crossed!

Moisturiser

I have 2 moisturizers as well. The first I use just in a morning before make up, the Simple hydrating light moisturiser (Right) and at night once I have removed my makeup I use the the Clean & Clear dual action moisturiser (Left). Both of these are really good and I really recommend them. The simple one is good for under make up because its very light so when you've put makeup on it doesn't feel like you've 'caked' it on! I haven't been using the Clean & Clear one long like the deep cleansing lotion but so far so good and this also claims to prevent spots so again, fingers crossed!

Spot Treatment

I have tried just about every spot treatment going and these are the 3 that I have found work the best. I have had the Clean & Clear advantage spot treatment gel (left) for a long time now and find that it works really well but my skin does kind of get used to it and it stops working, but its great when it does work. I also got a gel called Epiduo (right) from my doctor when I went there about my skin which also works well but is VERY strong and contains some form of bleach which means you have to be careful to keep it away from your hair and it also takes the skin off if you use it too much but if you only use a few times it works well. I'm not sure if you can buy this from a shop but its worth asking a pharmacist or doctor about. Lastly is Sudocrem (middle). This simplest of things that works so well! Sudocrem is cheep and works just as well as many spot treatments so definitely worth trying before you splash out on an expensive product.

Face Wipes

I use the Simple cleansing facial wipes. They are really good at removing makeup and are super soft. I also like the blue packet of these which I don't have at the minute but they are really nice on the skin, they just don't remove makeup (especially eye makeup) very well.

Cleansing Pads

I forgot to include these on the main picture but they are essential in my skin care routine! They are the Superdrug deep action pore cleansing pads. They remove any last bits of makeup that are left on the skin and leave the skin feeling very refreshed and clean. I have tried a few different brands of these but have found the Superdrug own brand ones the best!

I don't know when we will next post after today because we will be spending our 2 week holiday either revising or at school but hopefully you wont have to wait too long!

Makeup Haul......

So what do I do when I have christmas money to spend.... well I got in to Selfridges and buy makeup yay... well not really have spent all my life saving's on my new Nars Makeup! I have came to the conclusion that Nars is lovely and my skin actually likes it as well which is a great start as my skin is funny with makeup products! I originally went in to Nars to buy myself some tinted moistures and a new mascara but I also got sucked in to the new Spring collection of blushes and lipsticks!

Satin Lip Pencil:
I don't normally wear anything on my lips really but when I saw this lip pencil which is called Stourhead-9213 I completely fell in love with it! Its just a light baby pink in a pencil form and its lovely to apply and I normally just put a lip balm on top so that my lips don't dry out!

Blush:
I have been trying to find the perfect blush for along time now and I couldn't find a nice one in Mac so I kinda gave up on looking however when the lady showed me the new blushes I fell in love with one called Love-4041 and its a darker pink but still light at the same time it's gorgeous and I really recommend it, I just smile and apply it to the apples of my cheeks and it just adds a bit of colour on my face for the dull winter months!

Mascara:
Unfortuantly my favourite mascara of all time has finally ran out which was a Lancome one which is limited edition and I couldn't find it anywhere so I just went ahead a brought a Nars one! I have been looking at reviews of the Nars mascara and I have heard good thing about them so I went ahead and brought one and I love it! Its the Volumizing Mascara Black-7006 I also love the packaging of the mascara because its a black matte but it does make your eyelashes look bolder and longer and I really recommend it!

Tinted Moisturizer:
Finally getting on to the product I originally went to buy! Im all for trying new tinted moisturisers as I don't wear any foundation as I don't really need it. I decided to try this out as I had ran out my Mac tinted moisturiser and I have had bad experainces with the people in Mac around my area in town and I told myself I wouldn't buy from that store again as it's the only one where I live so I decided to treat myself to this one and it's lovely the converage is brilliant and it covers any little irritating spots that pop up and it smells devine I love it! It doesn't lie heavy on my skin either which is a positive, the lady did a colour test on me so I knew what colour I was going for and I went for Light1 Finland-2321

I hope you like this post and comment what Nars makeup you own and if you want us to do anymore post related to makeup and stuff like that! We are finally back on the blogging game as we have a routine going know so still full up to our necks with school work but also succeeding at blogging!
Thank youuuuuuu

Eye Makeup

My Everyday Eye Makeup.....

I thought that I would write this post about my everyday eye makeup, I don't tend to wear alot of eye makeup as i have big eyes and i don't tend to bring attention to them and I have to wear glasses a lot but I like a natural look when I wear eye makeup. Sometimes I change my eye makeup with what im wearing or if im going out or I want a more dramatic look but this is what i normally on a daily basis, I don't always wear this for school either as we are not allowed eyeliner as they say its "too much makeup".

The first thing I do is apply my Bourjois Paris Intuitive Liner  which you can from dotted lines across your eye to be able to make your eyeliner line perfect. Once I have used this I put the Mac Liquid Eye Liner which is perfect and makes the eyeliner bolder as the Bourjois eyeliner is not a bold black so I put the Mac eyeliner in very black on the top to make it stand out just a tiny bit.

The next thing I apply is my eyeshadow, I use the Naked Palette 2 which has a lovely range of brown and metalic shimmers in it.The first colour I use is Half Baked which is kind of like a champagne brownish colour I use this to cover my whole eyelid. I then use the colour Chopper which is a dark brown with a lot of shimmer in it I use this in the crease of my eyelid by my brow bone.

Once I have applied the eyeliner and the eyeshadows I then apply a light coat of mascara which is the brand Collection-Killer Curves Mascara  in very black personally I think that this is a really good mascara and doesn't clump and make your eyes look like its covered in big blobs of mascara because thats not classy just saying.

This is the overall look after i have finished...

Holiday Makeup

My Holiday Makeup Essentials...

Makeup bag- Ted Baker
I recently went on holiday to Spain and so I thought I would share the makeup I took with me. I wore all of the products except the dark Ted Baker eye shadow and Soap and Glory lip butter balm.

Lets start with the lips! I'm going to go in order of the swatches in the top picture.
Firstly i took Estee Lauder in the colour 82- Palace Pink. This is a really vibrant pink and perfect for the summer! It stays put for a few hours and looks amazing with a clear or nude gloss over the top.  Next is Benefit 'Life on the A list'. It is a really subtle pretty pink colour that again stays on perfectly! It is a sticky lip gloss though so if you don't like that this probably isn't the best gloss for you. Then i have a Lancome Juicy Tube in the shade 'Disco Melon'. This is the best smelling lip gloss EVER! It is not as orange as it looks and is great for everyday use. I t is also quite sticky and doesn't stay put for very long but I'v had this tube for almost a year and it doesn't look like much has gone which is amazing considering how much i use it. Soap & Glory 'Smooch operator' is great for dry lips and lasts for ages. I'm still on my first pot and use it frequently.

These are the 3 face products I took with me.
I don't wear or even own a foundation so i like to use Rimmels BB cream. It is a 9 in 1 perfecting make up that primes, moisturises, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smooths, mattifies, brightens and helps protect. It has SPF 25 so really protects you skin when out in the sun whilst still looking natural. It is very lightweight and you don't feel like your wearing it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Next is the Avon colour trend pressed powder in 'Translucent'. This is my favorite powder i'v ever tried and will definitely be repurchasing. Lastly i took the Ted Baker compact bronzer. Mine is from the 'A star is born' box so i dont know if you can get it separately but it is also my go to bronzer as it gives you a bit of colour but isn't to pigmented.
For some reason my camera felt the need to flash which is why the lighting is
so dodgy, sorry!
Lets start with mascara. First i have the travel size Benefit ' They're real' mascara which is just brilliant! it does exactly what it says and can be made into a subtle natural daytime look or an evening party look. Believe it or not although it looks black the next mascara is Avon colour trend 'Crystal Clear' i don't use this as a clear mascara usually, i use it to keep mascara on longer but i used this for days spent around the pool with no other make up just to make me look more awake. The 3 eye shadows are Ted Baker again from the ' A star is born' box so they may not be sold seperatly. They are gold, pink, grey and stay on really well with no creasing though the pink isn't as thick so sometimes drops below the eye when applying. They are also really pigmented.

On the right you can see my eye brow pencil. I have light blonde hair so trying to find a pencil that wasn't to dark was a bit of a challenge but this really is perfect! Its Models Prefer and also has a good brush on the opposite side. The other 2 brushes are Ted Baker from the 'A star is born' box. They are great and really soft. The eye shadow brush is particularly soft and i love how the blush brush (I'm not sure if its a blush one) is pink at the tip.

What are your holiday essentials?
