Brand focus: Soap & Glory ♡

I have seen a few bloggers now do 'Brand focus' posts where they basically show all the things they have from a specific brand. I have wanted to do a review of some Soap & Glory products for a while so thought I could show you them all and maybe start a little series of these posts with a different brand every time maybe every few months?
My love for Soap & Glory products grows every time I go into Boots and see the shelves after shelves of amazing smelling products and have to drag myself away before I have no money left on my bank card! So here's my Soap & Glory collection so far, enjoy!

First of all I have shower gel. The full sized bottles are £6.50 which can seem a bit pricey just for a shower gel when you compare it too others but it is definitely worth it! The small one is a travel sized one that is really handy for going away on holiday and it is only £2.50 which I think is really good. I like that they are in a pump bottle so you don't use too much which is one of the reasons I think they are worth the price, as they last ages! I like to alternate between these 3 shower gels so that I don't get bored of them. The first one I have is Clean On Me which is a creamy shower gel but also has a built in body lotion. It leaves your skin feeling really smooth and soft and smells good too! The next one I have is Foam Call which has a stronger, more fruity smell than Clean On Me. I also think that it prevents your skin from going as dry as a normal one would so Its definitely a great one for winter. Lastly I have Sugar Crush. Words can not describe how much I love the fragrance of this one! It has a really strong citrus smell that lingers on your skin for quite a long time after and I just wish there was a perfume of this so that I could smell like it all of the time! I seriously recommend this one as it is my favourite and even if you don't want to buy it go into boots or super drug or somewhere like that and smell it, you will fall in love!

The next product I have is the Girligo spray on body moisturising mist. Mine came in a set so it is the mini 100ml which is £3.50 one but the full size 250ml is £6.50. This again smells really nice and is great for if you don't have time to apply a body lotion. You simply spray it on post shower and it soaks into your skin leaving its fragrance and not making your skin feel greasy like some lotions do. I wouldn't use it as an alternative to body lotion or butter all the time because I don't think it makes your skin feeling as soft as they do but it is definitely good to try and use when you go on holiday or don't have much time after showering in a morning.

The next product I have is possibly the most talked about product from Soap & Glory. It is the Hand Food hand cream that everyone recommends and is definitely worth having. It is not greasy at all and just leaves your hands feeling really soft and soothed which I think is done by the shea butter in it. It has a lovely light scent that you cant really smell until it has soaked into the skin. You don't need to use much of it which is probably why the hole it comes out of is so small (as I tried to show above)  but this is great because it means it will probably be a long time until it needs replacing. I have the 50ml one which is just £2.50 but I dont think you need it any bigger because this one is the perfect handbag size and as I already mentioned will last a long time, but they also have a 125ml tube for £5.

I cant really say much about this next item as I haven't really used it but it is The Righteous Butter. It contains shea butter and aloe vera to make your skin feel soft after you have been in the bath or shower. It smells nice (no suprise there) and is a nice creamy, thick butter that does feel really nice when you apply it. I cant wait to use this one more and see how nice it really is. I have the £2.50 travel size 50ml pot because it was part of a set but you can also get a bigger 300ml pot for £10.50 which I think is a lot compared to this smaller one for only £2.50.

Similar to The Righteous Butter I have the Flake Away body polish/scrub. I have used this product a lot in the shower because I get really dry skin on my heels and this has really helped! I use it every other time I go in the shower as I think its too strong because it has the little sand type grains that must be quite harsh on your skin for it to work so quickly, but works really well. I'm not sure what this exactly smells like but suprise, suprise its really nice and not too strong. Mine again was in a set so is the £2.50 travel size one but I think the bigger pot for £8 is definitely something to think about when mine runs out.

Lastly is the first product I brought from Soap & Glory a long time ago. It's the Smooch Operator lip butter balm which helps repair extremely dry lips. This is like a miracle product! Not only does it smell like coconut but in just 1 or 2 uses it repairs dry lips perfectly! It is no longer available in this size any more which I think is rubbish because this has lasted me a very long time, but you have to get a smaller pot which does look a lot smaller. Mine was £6  but it is now smaller and £5 but I would pay so much more if I had to because it really is possibly the best beauty product I own!

I really enjoyed doing this post so I think I will definitely do more brand focus posts soon and maybe Alicia will too! Sorry its been almost a month since our last post but I have been in my schools production of Oliver the musical which along with dancing outside of school 5 days a week basically took over my life (seriously I almost forgot what a dinner time was!) and Alicia has started her revision for our GCSE exams in the summer. Hopefully we will have another post up soon and you wont have to wait quite as long!

Rimmel Foundation Review ♡

I was so excited to open the October edition of Company Magazine and find a sample for the new Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation! I don't wear foundation on a daily basis but I like to if I'm going out somewhere because I feel like I'v made more of an effort and my face looks nicer. Last Sunday I went to a christening (See THIS post for a OOTD) so I tried it out and this is what I thought!

This foundation is a really nice texture. It is smooth and applies nicely to the skin. It reminds me of the Rimmel BB Cream but with more coverage. I think the texture is like a mix between the Rimmel BB Cream and the Maybeline Dream Matte Mousse which I also love. The sample was in the shade 100 Ivory which luckily was perfect for my skin but I haven't seen it in a shop yet so don't known if they do many different shades. It is lightweight and with some concealer very easily makes your skin look perfect. I didn't go shihny until towards the end of the day and it was a warm day so I was very impressed. It is very natural looking which is what Rimmel were looking for with the line 'Cake no more'. It is in boots for £5.99 which I definitely think is reasonable if your looking for a good drug store foundation.

Maybeline Dream Matte Mousse- £7.69
Rimmel BB Cream- £6.99
Rimmel Stay Matte- £5.99
(All prices are from Boots)

I know the colours aren't the same but you can see the similar textures in this picture.

Overall I think that this is a very nice and affordable foundation that I would buy in the future

Fashion Magazines...

4 Fashion Magazine Reviews...

I'm a big fan of fashion magazines and they are what really made me want to be apart of this blog with Alicia and hopefully one day be able to write for one of the top fashion magazines in the country! (I like to dream big) So here is my opinion of 'Vogue', 'Elle', 'Company' and 'Cosmopolitan'... Enjoy!

Vogue!
Vogue is probably one of, if not the best known fashion magazine in the world! This is the first issue I bought, it's the December 2012 and I had always wanted to read Vogue but as I was only 14 at the time I always thought I was too young. However, This issue has a huge One Direction section so I just had to buy it!It was the first fashion magazine I'd ever read front to back and I loved it! I'm glad I kept it because at 14 I didn't really appreciate it as much as I could of but since iv gone back threw it and found many outfit ideas and little tips&tricks I can safely say it doesn't disappoint. At 15 I'm probably still a bit young for Vogue but Teen Vogue isn't very easy to get your hands on in England so I enjoyed this just as much as I would the teen version I think!

Age- I think people age 16-18+ will probably love and appreciate this magazine
Rating out of 5- 3.5 - purely because I think its a bit old for me at the moment

Elle
June 2013's Elle magazine featured Miley Cyrus... whats not to love?! Elle is definitely one of my favourite fashion magazines because it has lots of tips, interviews with people who know what they're talking about and I'v never been so engrossed in a magazine before! I literately couldn't put it down! I dont know what else to say other than its amazing, I love it and I think you will too! So get a copy and see what you think! Just a side note Elles Instagram is great for a fashion fix between issues: elleuk

Age- 15+
Rating- 4.5- I just read it too quickly...

Company
I have never wanted to fan girl over a magazine so much in my life... As much as I love the other magazines Company is definitely my favourite! Urgh I just LOVE it! Its bright and colorful and each one has a fun spine with a quirky title. Company is a magazine that as long as my local supermarket has it I will buy it. Again I don't know what to say except its amazing and if you don't get it your missing out big time! Company have an Instagram account that I love too which you should take a look at: Companymagazine .Just a side note Company if your looking for a feature writer of some sort I'm sure I can fit time into my busy fangirl life ;)

Age- 15+
Rating- 5- IT'S JUST FAB OKAY?!
Cosmopolitan
I thought Cosmopolitan was more of a fashion magazine which is why I bought it but I was wrong... Its definitely too old for me and wasn't really to my taste. However, I did enjoy the fashion section and I enjoyed reading it but I probably wont be buying it again for a while. I wanted to include it incase anyone else thought it was a fashion mag like me but ill be sticking to Company for now... Sorry!

Age- 16-18+
Rating- 2.5- I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought but when I'm older ill definitely try it again!

There we go! They are my 3 favourite fashion magazines and one not so good. I hope you enjoyed this style of post!

*UPDATE*
Firstly sorry for the break between posts Alicia didn't want the blog to just be filled with her posts and I didn't know what to write but I'll be back soon with a back to school post! Also good luck to anyone getting GCSE results tomorrow! Me and Alicia are really nervous and we only took exams for 3 subjects this year! SO GOOD LUCK FROM US!

June empties...

Empty products...

So at the end of June I tidied my bedroom and gathered together some empty products that i found and I'm going to share them with you now and tell you what I thought of them. Please note all brand prices are from Boots.

Hair...

John Freida - Go Blonder
John Freida - Moisturizing Shampoo
Morrisons - Firm hold mousse

First I have a shampoo and conditioner (both £5.89 ) from John Freida. This is the Go Blonder collection for blonde hair which gradually lightens blonde hair over time. I liked this for the winter when my hair starts to go darker and I can honestly say that I saw results within a couple of weeks! I didn't use this every time I washed my hair because as it lightens it probably has an element of bleach in it which obviously isn't very good for your hair. The shampoo just about saw me through the winter which was great and I have just finished the conditioner which I have been using along with my second product, John Freida Moisturizing Shampoo (£5.59). This product says it is highlight activating but I don't have highlights so I'm not sure how well it lives up to that. It does make hair look a lot healthier and since I have come home from my holiday I'v used it a lot and my hair now doesn't look so damaged from the sun and heat. I have also got a moisturizing conditioner just waiting too be used so ill let you know how I get on with that. Both products are definitely ones I would repurchase and have actually already started on my second bottle of the moisturizing shampoo. John Freida also does Brunette and Red collections that I would definitely recommend you try. My last hair product is a Firm Hold Mouse from Morrisons (about £1?). I wanted mousse to try out some simple wavy hair tutorials i found on YouTube and just went for a Morrisons own one which is actually really good! It smells quite nice and has UV protection so is going to help hair in the summer sun. For just under £1 it is brilliant and probably works just as well as branded ones, definitely a product I would repurchase because I didn't use it too much and so it isn't worth me buying an expensive branded mousse.

Skin...

Simple - Facial Toner
Clean & Clear -  Daily facial moisturizer

Clinique - Dramatically different moisturizing lotion
The next 3 products I have are skin care. First I have an AMAZING facial toner from Simple (£2.99). I love Simple and this product is the most refreshing thing I'v ever used! The vitamins soften skin and the nutrients soften and protect skin. I use this with 2 other simple products and just apply it before moisturizing with a couple of cotton wool pads. It is brilliant value as it is really quite cheap and definitely a product I will repurchase many times I'm sure. The second product is a moisturizer from Clean & Clear (Not sure about price but is usually around £2.99 I think?) which is okay as a spare or if your desperate but i wouldn't make a special effort to go out and buy it. It wasn't to bad to begin with so I'm not sure if i might have just got used to it? But i honestly wasn't exactly over the moon with this moisturizer and iv definitely used better. Lastly for skin care  I have another moisturizer  this time is it Cliniques Dramatically different moisturizing lotion.(125ml - £28 & 50ml - £17) This smells sooo good! It is really refreshing and even this small 30ml  version lasted along time! When i was using this product I did breakout which might just be a coincidence but  have seen other beauty bloggers say the same. Overall a good higher end moisturizer that I might repurchase in the future.

Spot treatment...

Witch - Blemish Stick
Clean & Clear - Spot treatment gel
The first product which is from a brand called Which is their Blemish stick (£2.99). Its really strong and even smells strong when you apply it. I felt it worked really well to begin with but maybe my skin got used to it because i soon felt that it wasn't doing much and my spots just kept getting worse. A product which is definitely good for the money and i might repurchase in the future but probably not any time soon. Next is Clean & Clean Advantage spot treatment gel (£4.59). Again this worked at first and had immediate action to begin with but then after a while stopped working so well. As I'm sat writing this post I have found that there is actually some left in this tube but again when its finished i might repurchase some time in the future.

I have really enjoyed reviewing these products so please let us know if you want more empties or just review posts.
